Chelsea begin their Club World Cup journey tonight with a match against Los Angeles FC in Atlanta, their first of three group games in Group D.

Enzo Maresca's side head Stateside for the first edition of the new look tournament in confident mood having won eight of their last nine matches of the season in all competitions, including winning the Conference League final against Real Betis in their last outing.

The Blues have also secured their first top four Premier League finish in three years in the Italian's first season in charge despite a turbulent few years at the football club.

The west London side earned their spot in this year's Club World Cup after winning the 2021 Champions League final, though only two of their 23-man squad and manager from that final in Porto remain at the club, of which only captain Reece James is in the squad for this summer's tournament.

Los Angeles FC head off to the Club World Cup in the middle of the domestic season, and make the trip to Atlanta unbeaten in their last nine matches, though with only three wins their last eight.

Managed by Steven Cherundolo, who was capped 87 times for the USA and was in went to three World Cups, the Black and Gold currently sit fifth in the MLS Western Conference table, despite winning the conference in two of the last three seasons.

Tonight will be the very first game the Californian side have played in the Club World Cup, while Chelsea have played in this competition three times before, lifting the trophy in their most recent participation back in 2021 with an extra time win in the final against Palmeiras in Abu Dhabi.
