Football accumulator tips for this weekend [3-5 May 2024]

We are only a few weeks away from the end of the Premier League season and there is still plenty to play for.

We have focused on five of the matches taking place this weekend, picking out a betting tip for each of them.

A £10 wager on our three-leg acca would pay out £54, while the same stake on our five-leg version offers a potential return of £170.10.

Luton Town vs Everton: Everton to score first (4/5)

This is a massive match for Luton Town, who are one point adrift of safety heading into the weekend.

This game is scheduled for Friday night, so the Hatters have the chance to pile the pressure on their relegation rivals Nottingham Forest and Burnley ahead off their assignments on Saturday.

Everton confirmed safety with a 1-0 victory over Brentford last time out, so the pressure is off to an extent.

That does not necessarily make them less dangerous, though. Everton could actually be freed by the reduced responsibility.

Luton have conceded the opening goal 25 times this term, the joint-highest figure in the division. This fixture means more to Luton than it does to Everton, but that alone is not reason enough to favour the hosts.

Arsenal vs Bournemouth: Arsenal to win to nil (6/5)

Arsenal stormed into a 3-0 lead over Tottenham Hotspur in last weekend’s north London, then had to defend for their lives as they held on for a 3-2 victory.

Mikel Arteta will hope for a more routine 90 minutes here and he will probably get it, notwithstanding Bournemouth’s excellent form.

Arsenal have the best defensive record in the division. They have conceded the fewest goals and kept the most clean sheets, with 16 in total.

The Gunners can register another shut-out here. Bournemouth are dangerous in attack, but Arsenal are experts at snuffing out visitors to the Emirates Stadium.

There may be more twists and turns in the title race, yet it is hard to see Arsenal slipping up in this one.

Manchester City vs Wolves: Man City -1 handicap (4/11)

Arsenal would go top of the table with a victory over Bournemouth in the early kick-off on Saturday It would then be down to Manchester City to respond in the final match of the day.

Wolves beat Luton 2-1 last time out, but their form has been mediocre in recent weeks. Only Luton, Brighton & Hove Albion and Sheffield United have collected fewer points in their last six matches.

Gary O’Neil’s side did beat Manchester City in the reverse fixture and their quick breaks forward will give the champions something to think about on Saturday.

Yet Pep Guardiola’s side have their eyes on the prize and they will not pass up the opportunity to add another three points to their tally at the Etihad Stadium this weekend.

Burnley vs Newcastle United: Newcastle to win (19/20)

A 1-1 draw with Manchester United last weekend kept Burnley’s slim survival hopes alive. They are now just two points below the dreaded dotted line with nine left to play for.

Unfortunately for the Clarets, we do not expect them to pick up anything from Newcastle United’s trip to Turf Moor.

Vincent Kompany’s charges have, for the most part, been dire in front of their own fans this term. Burnley have the second-worst home record in the division with just two wins in 17.

Newcastle continue to be dogged with more than their fair share of injuries, but Eddie Howe’s side have played some excellent football of late.

The Magpies are scoring goals for fun right now and that bodes ill for a Burnley backline that has looked shaky for most of the campaign.

Sheffield United vs Nottingham Forest: Both teams to score (8/13)

A win here would be massive in Nottingham Forest’s bid to secure another season of Premier League football.

It is a game from which Nuno Espirito Santo’s men should emerge triumphant, although it is worth noting that Forest have struggled on the road ever since promotion.

Only their upcoming opponents Sheffield United have collected fewer points at opposition grounds this term.

Do not write the Blades off, then. At the very least, Chris Wilder’s relegated team can find the back of the net here.

Finish things off with both teams to score at 8/13 with bet365
