Borussia Dortmund are set for a big payday regardless of the outcome of their Champions League final clash with Real Madrid.

The Bundesliga side booked their place at Wembley Stadium next month thanks to a 2-0 aggregate victory over Paris Saint-Germain on Tuesday.

Mats Hummels headed the only goal of the game at the Parc des Princes after carrying a one-goal advantage into the second leg.

Real Madrid emulated Dortmund by edging past Bayern Munich 4-3, to seal their spot in the showpiece final on June 1.

Bayern looked set to dump the 14-winners out of the competition following Alphonso Davies' opener for the German side.

But a late double from ex-Stoke and Newcastle striker Joselu broke Bayern hearts and sent the LaLiga giants into their fifth Champions League final in the last nine years.

Madrid can claim their 15th title should they overcome Dortmund next month, in a match that sees Jude Bellingham line up against his former club.

However, Dortmund could find themselves in a win-win situation regardless of the outcome at Wembley, with German newspaper Rhur Nachrichten claiming the Bundesliga outfit are set to land a huge cash windfall even if they lose the match.

According to the report, Bellingham’s £88million switch to the Santiago Bernabeu last summer included £27.5m worth of add-ons and bonuses.

Madrid’s on-field success this term apparently means they will have to fork out for winning the LaLiga title and securing Champions League qualification, with Bellingham playing a major role in both.

However, the deal also includes an add-on in the event they win the Champions League this season.

Therefore, if Bellingham lifts the famous trophy at Wembley, Dortmund will receive a further £4.3m from Real Madrid.

Furthermore, if the England star is selected in the Champions League Team of the Season, Dortmund will reportedly be due a further £1.7m.

The losing finalist will scoop a whopping £12.9m and, alongside the bonuses paid for the 20-year-old, a defeat at Wembley would net BVB a tidy £19.3m.

That’s more than the £17.2m handed out to the winners of the competition.

On the reunion with his former employers, Bellingham told TNT Sports after the stunning victory over Bayern: “At Wembley, against Dortmund, it’s a weird one. I can’t believe it. I’m so looking forward to it, the atmosphere, the game itself."

When asked if he would have preferred a different opponent, he said: “I think at this point of the competition, anyone who’s still in it or anyone that’s got to the final deserves to be there.

“So to cherry pick would be unfair. We’ve got here because we deserve to, they’ve got there because they deserve to. That’s what the final is all about and hopefully it will be a great game.”
