Mikel Arteta could miss Arsenal's last game of the Premier League season against Everton.

The Gunners have two games to go this campaign with the title battle with Manchester City set to go right down to the wire.

Arteta's side sit one point clear at the top of the table but Man City have a game in hand, meaning it is theirs to lose.

So Arsenal are having to rely on City slipping up in at least one of their last three against Fulham, Tottenham or West Ham.

And they will likely have to win both of their final two against Manchester United and Everton to get the job done.

However, the league leaders could potentially be without their manager for the final game of the season.

Arteta has received five yellow cards which means he is one away from a one-game suspension.

If he is to receive that against Man United this Sunday, he will be forced to sit in the stands at the Emirates against Everton.

That game could end up being a Premier League title decider, so Arsenal will be desperate to have their manager on the sidelines.

The animated Spaniard makes a big impact on his team during each game, but his passion is known to lead to cautions.

Arteta has already been suspended once this season after receiving three yellow cards following a booking against Luton.

He was forced to miss the Gunners' trip to Aston Villa in December and his side were beaten 1-0, showing how his absence has an impact.

Since then, he has been booked two more times against Brighton and Chelsea, giving him the worst managerial disciplinary record in the Premier League this campaign.

After his last suspension, Arteta wasn't regretful at taking a yellow card as he said: "Yeah, I could not be sitting on my seat, unfortunately.

“So I left there [the technical area], I had no spatial awareness at all. It was just pure emotion. So if that’s a yellow. Okay, it’s a yellow.”

But it's that 'pure emotion' that could massively affect his team on the final day, should he let it overtake him at Old Trafford this weekend.

If he does pick up a card, it will leave Arteta's assistant Albert Stuivenberg in charge of the team for what will be a pivotal fixture.
